New and ambitious shop opens up in the Foothills
News 11's Adonis Albright speaks with the owner to learn more about the different activities being offered
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Sandee's Arts and Crafts is a new shop located in the Foothills in Yuma that just opened its doors in February of this year. The location offers several different activities from paint pouring, mosaics, wine painting, and so much more. As a local business that just set up shop during a pandemic, the owner, Sandee Lobred, is welcoming the community to stop on by and see what the store has to offer.
Located across the street from Wheezy's Restaurant and Bar, the shop describes itself as the perfect play place for children and adults. Lobred says it's also the perfect location to host any type of party. Also worth noting is that the store is handicap accessible.
"School is almost out, please come on by and see what I have to offer here, the space is very cool and if the kids need to get out of the house, come on down. I've got something for teens, and for little boys and girls", said Lobred.
Opening up shop is already a challenge in and of itself -- even more so during a pandemic. Lobred said she spent the last few months of quarantine decorating her shop to make it look the best it can be, and wants her guests to feel at home.
"I do wear a mask when people are in here, but I have had my vaccination, so I think I'm good there, but I wouldn't want anybody to feel unsafe. We can always keep everybody spread out."
The shop also offers a special for veterans on Tuesdays from 1 to 3 p.m., as well as teen game nights on Fridays.
To make a reservation, you can contact the business at (619) 251-3267 or you can find them on Facebook.
