Local graduate surprised with a parade

Destini Rushing was scheduled to walk the line today, but because of the pandemic she has had to stay home

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - For the past four years Destini Rushing has looked forward to walking the line and receiving her degree. Destini was scheduled to graduate from Dallas Baptist University on May 14th. Due to the pandemic she was forced to return home.

Her family contacted members of the Valley Baptist Church in Yuma and together they organized a parade. Destini was pleasantly surprised as cars drove down her street with streamers and balloons all the celebrate her achievement.
