YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A man is behind bars after deputies said he shot someone in the middle of the road early Wednesday morning.

Yuma County Sheriff's Office said, 38-year-old Steven Singh allegedly argued with another individual in the middle of the roadway and then shot the victim.

Deputies said the shooting happened in the Foothills near Avenue 12 1/2 E and Brenda Drive just after midnight.

YCSO added the alleged victim ran to find shelter and was found with one gunshot wound. That person is now in stable condition at Yuma Regional Medical Center, according to deputies.

This is not the first time Singh runs into trouble with the law. In March 2020, he pled guilty to disorderly conduct.

The suspect was booked into jail on one count of attempted second-degree murder.

The Yuma County Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information related to the case to call them at (928) 783-4427 or to remain anonymous call 78-CRIME.
