IVC to host Big Game Day & Open House this week

IMPERIAL, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Imperial Valley College (IVC) is hosting the Big Game Day & Community Open House event for students, families and residents of all ages across Imperial County.

In a press release, the event starts this Thursday at 2:00 p.m., and is taking place at the campus' building 1000 lawn, where those who attend "can enjoy large inflatables, jumbo games with prizes, food trucks, and student club booths that highlight opportunities to get involved on campus."

Soon after, IVC says the event will then move inside the campus' gym at 4:00 p.m., where there will be a "half-court and free-throw contests, followed by a friendly and spirited Students vs. Employees basketball game—with prizes awarded throughout."

IVC says the event is for everyone, "including IVC students, faculty and staff, local K–12 students, families, and seniors," and is "a great opportunity to explore campus, connect with the college community, and enjoy an afternoon of school spirit and entertainment."

The event will go until 5:00 p.m.
