Imperial County fire departments to participate in second annual county wide drill
IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Every fire department in Imperial County will be joining forces for their second annual county wide drill.
Brawley Fire Deputy Chief Juan Rodelo says their training will include a scenario of a large fire spreading to multiple homes.
The fire agencies will cover five important areas including how they communicate, tactics and how to respond to multiple fires at the same time.
"This is far from a test, this is just capabilities of excuses just to make sure we are up to date... with tactics and deploy our resources whenever we need it...if we ever encounter an incident of a big magnitude," said Rodelo.
The county wide fire drill will start next Monday and will end on Wednesday.
The fire agencies will meet at the Brawley Cattle Call Arena.
