IID voting to improve public outreach
IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Imperial Irrigation District (IID) said it's voting on a budget amendment to create a stronger public affairs department.
According to IID, it's been working on this plan for about three months.
They currently have six full-time employees and one position that is open.
If the amendment is approved, the department will receive almost $300,000 to help create more jobs.
"What it means for our department and our district is, we want to communicate more. We want to reach our customers more. There is a lot going on at the district, this is the largest irrigation district in the nation and the third largest public power utility in California,” said IID Public Information Officer Rober Schettler.
The voting will take place on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
