New affordable apartments come to the Valley
EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The City of El Centro is building new 96-unit affordable apartments for low-income families earning 30% to 60% of Area Median Income.
The project will be only for residential use, with living spaces, community, and common areas dedicated to residents of the development.
Jacaranda Gardens is the fourth affordable housing development Chelsea Investment Corporation has built in the City of El Centro.
“We have a total number of 300 in the city after this is finished and we have a face two right behind us will be another 78 units so total investment about 75 to 76 million dollars in the city of El Centro,”said Jim andersen, Chief development officer for chelsea investment corporation.
The city says construction has already started and the apartments will be ready by october of 2024.
