Farmworker Health and Wellness Fair to take place at Imperial Valley College
Services will be provded to those eligible
IMPERIAL, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Several Imperial Valley organizations are partnering up to host a farmworker health and wellness fair on December 2 from 2:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Imperial Valley College.
Farmworkers and their families are invited to receive free health services such as health screenings, blood pressure checks, flu shots and COVID-19 vaccines/boosters.
Other services will be offered by Imperial Valley College themselves, including program information, workforce preparation courses and free tuition information.
Sun Community Federal Credit Union will be offering enrollment to open a bank account.
“We are very excited to come together as a community in collaboration and partnership with Imperial Valley Vegetable Growers Association, Imperial Valley College, Sun Community Federal Credit Union, and Vo Neighborhood Medical Center, and to be able to finally bring forward this wonderful event,” expressed IVC Trustee Karla Sigmond. “Our mission is to identify, and provide resources related to health and wellness, financial literacy, and development of workforce to our farmworkers and their families so they may live productive, healthy, and happy lives. Thus, our Imperial Valley community becomes stronger and access to quality of life is shared by all.”
Free transportation to the Farmworker Health and Wellness Fair through Imperial County Transit will be provided.
