El Centro braces for George Floyd protests

Businesses shutting down and boarding up ahead of evening demonstration

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Businesses in downtown El Centro are hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst in light of destructive demonstrations all across the country.

Protestors plan a peaceful gathering this evening to speak out against the recent killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Similar events in larger cities across the country have turned destructive with many businesses looted and set on fire.
