Meadows Union students learn the importance of friendship in “No One Eats Alone” event

HOLTVILLE, Calif. (KYMA, KECY)- Meadows Union Elementary is one of the many schools nationwide joining in the movement known as "No One Eats Alone."

Local agencies joined students for the event to show them that they matter.

Keila Rodriguez, the Superintendent for Meadows Union Elementary said the event highlights the importance of making friends and making sure that no student is alone for lunch.

"We need to show, first of all kindness empathy and being able to provide these opportunities for our students. To make sure that they don't feel alone. But they know that there's diversity in our population and that we should welcome and embrace it, and accept them."
