Sensory room helps students deal with stress

The sensory room at Fremont Primary School.

CALIPATRIA, Calif, (KYMA, KSWT, KECY)- Fremont Primary school in Calipatria,  is helping its students manage their stress with a sensory room.

Known as the peace and love zone room, it's designed with different textures, lights and sounds to help students get their energy out and keep them calm.

Fremont Primary School Principal, Leo Monroy said not only is the room available for children with special needs but all students on campus as well.

"We have so many, it's such a diverse need for our students. That we really need to fine-tune what exactly is the best for their needs. How can we best meet those needs. And then design the school around those needs."

Monroy said the school continues working with parents to provide the best environment to help its students succeed.
