New DNA pilot program launched at Border Patrol
YUMA, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY)-The U.S. government launched a pilot program to collect DNA from people in immigration custody.
That DNA will then be submitted into a database with the FBI.
The new plan is to expand this program across its entire borders with Mexico and Canada. The data would go into a massive criminal database run by the FBI that would be held indefinitely.
However, immigration attorney's, immigration advocacy leaders are calling this new program intrusive and a violation of human rights.
