Nearly 400 pounds of meth found at Andrade Port of Entry
ANDRADE, Calif. (KYMA) - Nearly 400 pounds of meth was found over three days at the Andrade Port of Entry, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
The first arrest happened on September 26, when a driver attempted to cross into the U.S. from Mexico through the port. A K9 officer alerted other officers of illegal drugs in the vehicle.
219 packages were found hidden in door panels, back seats, gas tank, panes, trunk and spire tire.

On September 29, a K9 officer found more illegal drugs in another vehicle attempting to cross into the U.S. 189 packages were found in the back quarter panels, back doors and in the roof of the vehicle.
408 total packages were found during these two incidents, weighing 386 pounds and worth over $179,000.
"The Andrade Port of Entry exemplifies the vital role every border crossing plays in ensuring the safety and security of our nation," said Calexico Port Director Roque Caza. "Through steadfast enforcement efforts, we protect our communities and uphold the integrity of our borders."
