Bond denied for Virginia man after fatal car crash

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (NBC, KYMA) - Bond has been denied for a Virginia man accused in the deaths of a young couple and their two young children last week in Oakland County,
Michigan.

Prosecutors argued their case Tuesday in an Oakland county, Michigan courtroom where Charles Dean Pace appeared via video along with attorneys involved in the case.

According to Michigan State Police, Pace was traveling at speeds exceeding 90 mph and weaving between lanes before crashing into the family's disabled vehicle.

The impact was so massive, it split the family's car in half.

Investigators reported Pace's blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit. The judge in the case denied bond during Tuesday's court hearing.

The 27-year-old is charged with four counts of second degree murder and four counts of operating while intoxicated causing death.

The victims included 23-year-old Sakeria Dodson, 24-year-old Tieree Powell and their two young children, ages two and three.
