Las Vegas woman arrested for making terroristic threats

LAS VEGAS (CBS, KYMA) - A woman was arrested for making terroristic threats, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) said during a press conference Tuesday.

LVMPD identified the suspect as Allison Howlett, and says she's facing several charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, grand larceny and making terroristic threats.

Police say Howlett got into a fight with her partner Saturday morning at their home in Henderson before allegedly taking her partner's car, which was full of firearms.

Howlett's partner calling 911, telling the dispatcher Howlett made threats of suicide by cop and conducting a mass shooting.

Police tracked Howlett down, finding her parked in the garage of sunset station.

They say Howlett did not follow commands as she sat in the car playing loud music, but during negotiations, she asked police for water.

"The quick thinking officers developed a plan to take her into custody…and removed her from the vehicle," LVMPD said.

Police found at least 20 firearms in the car, they returned to Howlett's home in Henderson where they found 30 more firearms.

They say the investigation is still early, but found audio evidence from 2024 of Howlett making threats saying one day she wanted to conduct a mass shooting in Las Vegas.

Howlett remains in custody, and she will be in court Wednesday.
