Man with loaded AR-15 arrested outside airport in Florida
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CNN, KYMA/KECY) - Authorities in Florida believe they may have stopped a mass shooting from being carried out at an airport.
Deputies were called to the Palm Beach International Airport Tuesday after reports of a suspicious man who was parked in a restricted area.
When they responded, officials say they found 41-year-old Michael Rodrigues standing outside the vehicle getting dressed.
The car was a rental and inside, authorities say they found a loaded AR-15 rifle and multiple knives, including a machete.
Rodrigues is facing drug and weapons charges, along with trespassing. Officials say he has a long criminal history and more charges are possible.
