UPDATE (8:40 AM): Authorities in New York have identified one of the victims killed in Monday's shooting at a Manhattan high-rise.

Blackstone confirmed one of its executive's, Wesley LePatner, was among the four people who died.

The investment firm said, in a statement to NBC News, LePatner was a "beloved member of the Blackstone family" who was "deeply respected."

Meanwhile, the aftermath of Monday's tragedy can be seen outside 345 Park Avenue where bullet holes and shattered windows mark the building's entrance, and a new photo obtained by NBC News shows a vehicle believed to be the one driven by the 27-year-old gunman Shane Tamura.

The black BMW was captured on a license plate reader along I-80 in New Jersey.

The same vehicle was found double parked outside the office building where Tamura carried out the shooting.

Officials familiar with the investigation told NBC News the suspect left a note at the scene voicing anger that his mental illness may be linked to his having played football.

Investigators are looking into whether that is a why he targeted the building that houses the NFL offices.
