Two dead, at least nine injured in shooting in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHA (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A man and woman were killed and at least nine others were injured in a shooting at Lemon Hill in Fairmount Park Monday night, Philadelphia police said.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said that among those injured are a 15-, 16-, and 17-year-old. The rest of the victims are adults.

The victims were taken to multiple different hospitals including Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Temple University Hospital, and Lankenau Medical Center.

Police said the shooting happened just before 10:30 p.m. Eastern while different groups of people were gathered in the park, some beginning to pack up to leave.

One other person was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car in the chaos, police said.

No weapons have been recovered and no one has been arrested.

It's unclear at this time how the incident started and if there was one shooter or multiple.

Police said they will be investigating the widespread crime scene throughout the night and well into Tuesday.
