CAUGHT ON CAMERA: New Jersey mayor arrested for drunk driving
LUMBERTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - New police video shows a New Jersey mayor stumbling when she was arrested and accused of drunk driving.
Mayor Gina LaPlaca was arrested on Saint Patrick's Day when police responded to a call about erratic driving. They approached her in her driveway as she took her child out of her car.
Officers had her perform a field sobriety test and the video shows her stumbling and losing her balance.
Inside the car, police say they found a water bottle with alcohol.
She was then taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.
Her court date is set for April 15.
