Accused MS-13 gang leader arrested in Mexico
(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - One of the FBI's 10 Most Wanted has been arrested in Mexico. Francisco Javier Roman-Bardales is believed to be a "senior leader" of the violent MS-13 gang.
Mexican law enforcement officials released a statement saying, Roman-Bardales, also known as Francisco Javier "N," was positively identified in the state of Veracruz and taken into custody.
He will be transfered to Mexico City, before being deported to the United States, where he has been charged in the Eastern District of New York with several offenses including human smuggling, racketeering, narco-terrorism conspiracy, and conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists.
