Former CBP officer sentenced for sexually assaulting minor
(KYMA, KECY) - A former Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer has been sentenced to almost three decades in prison for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a minor.
The Department of Justice says 30-year-old Aaron Thomas Mitchell was sentenced to 27 years in prison.
They say he found a 15-year-old girl waiting for school to start, introduced himself as a law enforcement officer and ordered the child into his car.
The Department says he then restrained the child and drove her nearly an hour away to his apartment, before he abused her multiple times.
