Man arrested for attempted murder on W. 29th Street

UPDATE (2:30 PM): The suspect has been identified as 51-year-old Daniel Navarro.

He is being charged with three counts of disorderly conduct, aggravated assault and attempted murder.

According to court documents, Navarro stabbed the victim, and the victim took himself to Onvida Health.

He will be back in court this Friday.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma Police Department (YPD) has arrested a man for attempted murder.

In a press release, the incident happened Tuesday after 5:00 p.m. in the area of W. 29th Street and S. 47th Street.

YPD says there was a fight between the victim, a 45-year-old man, and the suspect, a 51-year-old man, resulting in the victim receiving non-life-threatening injuries.

"The victim he was not transported by ambulance, he took himself to Onvida, yes he did receive stab wounds, but again non-life threatening injuries and he was treated and released," said YPD public information Officer Lori Franklin.

YPD says the victim was taken to Onvida Health for treatment while the suspect ran away before officers arrived on scene.

According to YPD, the Somerton Police Department helped them in locating the suspect, who was then arrested and booked on charges, including attempted murder and aggravated assault.

If anyone has any information regarding the case, call UPD at (928) 373-4700, or 78-CRIME at (928) 782-7463 to remain anonymous. If anyone's information leads to an arrest, they may receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.
