Man accused of murdering a man extradited to Yuma County

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The local man accused of murdering another man is now back in Yuma County facing several felony charges.

27-year-old Nicholas Berry was extradited to Yuma from Riverside County this week, according to booking records.

He's facing four felonies including first-degree murder and being involved in a drive-by shooting.

Police say the shooting happened on the morning of June 11.

The victim, 51-year-old Benjamin Pilgrim was shot several times on Arizona Avenue near 9th Street.

He was taken to the hospital where he died.

Berry was eventually located on Interstate 8 where he rolled over in his vehicle and was taken to a California hospital before being taken to a jail in Riverside County.

He's now at the Yuma County Jail on a $2 million bond.
