Armed robbery suspect formally charged

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The man accused of stealing a vehicle and trying to steal money from a Yuma restaurant was formally charged on Thursday in court.

31-year-old Tyler Utley made his second appearance in court where he was formally charged with six counts, including armed robbery and theft.

Utley's bond was set at $350,000 by Judge Gregory Stewart.

These charges stem from Monday night when Utley was accused of stealing a Honda Pilot from a man at gunpoint.

Yuma police said he then went to the Kneader's restaurant at the Yuma Palms Mall and demanded money.

The drive-through cashier refused.

Yuma Police found Utley by First Street and Avenue B later that night and arrested him.

No one was injured in any of the incidents.

Utley is scheduled to be back in court later this month.
