Life in prison for the man who murdered Oregon woman in 2020
(KYMA, KECY) - After two years in court, the man convicted of murdering a 22-year-old woman from Oregon was sentenced to life in prison.
23-year-old Jorge Alan Aguilar-Hernandez pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, in the death of Kirstion Fish.
The sentence came down last week.
Prosecutors say Aguilar claimed Fish borrowed $5,000 from him and moved to Oregon without paying it back, leading to her murder two years ago.
Her body was found in a citrus grove between County 18th Street and Avenue 1E, east of Somerton.
Aguilar is not eligible for parole until he serves at least 25 years in prison.
Aguilar picked Fish up from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on November 2, 2020 and drove them both to Yuma where he later shot Fish.
