Attorney for the man accused of alleged money laundering withdraws from case

YUMA, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - The man accused of allegedly defrauding victims out of hundreds-of-thousands of dollars will be appointed to a new attorney.

29-year-old Andres Fernandez was set to appear in court Wednesday - but was excused for health reasons for the second time in two months.

Meanwhile, his attorney was present and requested to be withdrawn from the case - which was granted by Yuma County Superior Court Judge David Haws.

Fernandez faces a total of 15 counts including charges of money laundering and fraudulent schemes.

He will be back in court in October and will temporarily be appointed to the Public Defender's Office.
