Gunman targeting homeless people still at large
WASHINGTON (KYMA, KECY/CBS) - Police are still looking for a man who was caught on camera shooting at a homeless person and targeting at least five others.
A $70,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the gunman's arrest.
Two people have been killed and officers have passed out flyers to warn the homeless about the suspect in Washington, D.C.
There have been multiple victims in both Washington and New York City.
"This victim, who is apparently homeless, was sleeping at the time when an unknown individual approached him and discharged a firearm, striking him. The victim woke up, made a statement, screaming 'What are you doing?' The perpetrator then responded to flee," said NYPD Deputy Chief Henry Sautner.
Camera footage shows the suspect nudging a sleeping homeless man and then shooting him in the head.
"He must be brought to justice. He will be brought to justice. And if he is watching, we're telling him to turn himself in," expressed New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
