100+ more cases of coronavirus in Yuma County
Health officials confirm two more deaths
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma County Health District (YCHD) confirmed another 123 new cases of coronavirus Thursday, bringing the countywide total of cases to 1,643. Health officials also reported two additional deaths.
YCHD has released no information on the new patients, or those lost to the illness. However, statistics show 60 are women, and 63 are men.
The age group between 20 and 44 saw the most growth with an increase of 57 cases. Patients of those ages continues to make up the majority of Yuma County cases.
Health officials also provided new information on the status of coronavirus patients at Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC.) We now know some 88 people are hospitalized due to the virus. 20 of them are in the intensive care unit (ICU.)

Arizona currently has nearly 23,000 cases of coronavirus. The illness is blamed for nearly 1,000 deaths across the state, including 23 in Yuma County.
