Yuma County reports two new deaths as case total nears 800
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma County Health District (YCHD) confirms 67 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) Tuesday, bringing the countywide total to 797.
This total includes 61 inmates from the Yuma Prison Complex.
Health officials also report two new deaths for Tuesday, elevating the death toll to 13.
The latest county statistics describe an increase in hospitalizations. The county is now reporting 60, an increase of one since Monday. The Yuma Regional Medical Center last reported at least 21 patients are in the ICU Sunday.
Yuma County officials are not releasing any information on newest patients, nor are they providing details on the newest deaths.
The latest statistics show the 20 to 44 age group continues to comprise the bulk of all cases, now at 331. The critical 65+category has spiked by 11 in a day, now with a total of 131.
The latest report shows over 7,600 Yuma residents now screened.

Arizona currently has more than 16,783 cases of coronavirus. The illness is blamed for 807 deaths across the state, including 13 in Yuma County.
