Vaccinated people proven to be less sick than unvaccinated

(KYMA, KECY) - Even with a breakthrough infection, people who've been vaccinated against COVID-19 do not get as sick with the virus.

That conclusion comes from two researcher teams' reporting this week.

There was strong protection against severe disease and death - even months after first vaccinations, and with the more transmissible delta variant's spread.

One study looked at nearly 800,00 male and female veterans, all fully vaccinated and using data from PCR tests.

It did find a significant drop-off in vaccine efficacy against mild and asymptomatic infection, from 80% to below 50%, over eight months' time.
