Arizona and California releases new COVID numbers

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The new COVID case numbers in Arizona went up from 6,187 to 7,374 since last week. This is according to Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS).

The new COVID cases in Yuma County also went up from 199 to 263.

At the same time, the new COVID death numbers in Arizona went up from 129 to 192; same goes to COVID death numbers in Yuma County as it went up from 1,231 to 1,237. These are also according to AZDHS.

On the other hand, in a new report from COVID19.CA.gov, the new COVID case numbers in California went down from 53,251 to 46,708. Same goes to the new COVID case numbers in Imperial County; it went down from 219 to 187.

While the new COVID death numbers in California went down from 329 to 281, the new COVID death numbers went up from 963 to 964.

Since there was no change in COVID vaccination percentages in California and Imperial County, there was, however, an increase in new doses administered in Arizona; the numbers went up from 29,021 to 43,161. Same goes to new doses administered in Yuma County; the numbers went up from 1,894 to 2,197. These were from an AZDHS report.
