Target, Walmart no longer require face masks for fully vaccinated customers

(KYMA, KECY) - Target joins Walmart in allowing vaccinated customers to shop around without a mask.

USA Today reported starting Monday, Target, Walmart, and Starbucks, drop the mask mandate inside its stores. However, customers and employees who are not fully vaccinated are required to wear masks. Last Thursday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued new guidelines stating vaccinated Americans don't have to wear a mask indoors, nor outdoors, even in crowded spaces.

In a statement, Target said, "Given the CDC’s updated guidance last week, Target will no longer require fully vaccinated guests and team members to wear face coverings in our stores, except where it’s required by local ordinances."

Target adds, "We’re also providing paid time to U.S. hourly team members when they get their vaccines and free Lyft rides, up to $15 each way, for our team to get to and from their appointments."
