Yuma County sees steady rise of cases as Testing Blitz continues

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma County Public Health District confirmed 17 new cases of coronavirus Saturday, bringing the countywide total to 193.

This, as testing efforts continued in Yuma County Saturday morning, as part of Arizona's Testing Blitz. New statistics indicate 277 new tests in a day.

The death toll remains at 3, after the county experienced two consecutive deaths.

The county also sees an increase in hospitalizations — by two patients in one day.

Ten new patients are female and seven are male. The 20-44 age range continues with the highest number of cases, making up 41 percent of the total infected population.
