Repairs underway after Dolly Parton’s star on Hollywood Walk of Fame was vandalized

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (NBC, KYMA) - Repairs were underway Tuesday on Dolly Parton's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In a statement, the Hollywood Walk of Fame said a fan posted on social media that the star had been vandalized with scratches. It wasn't immediately clear when the scratches appeared.

Fans gathered at Parton's star following her death last week at the age of 80.

Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame, said Tuesday's work was scheduled last week.

An NBC affiliate in Los Angeles asked law enforcement if there is an investigation into reported vandalism.
