Singer D4vd back in court for status hearing

LOS ANGELES (NBC, KYMA) - Singer D4vd was back in court Tuesday for a status hearing in connection with the murder of 14-year-old Celese Rivas Hernandez, and it appears the case is moving forward.

During court proceedings in Los Angeles, attorneys for D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, and prosecutors told the judge they are ready to go forward with a multi-day hearing set to start July 21.

D4vd has been charged with first-degree murder and other crimes in Hernandez's death, who was reported missing in the spring of 2025.

Her remains were found in an abandoned Tesla registered to D4vd back in September, and he was taken into custody in April after a months-long investigation.

D4vd will return to court for the preliminary hearing, which is expected to last about five days, and will determine if there is enough evidence for the case to go to trial.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
