Two rescued after small plane lands upside down at a Southern California airport

UPLAND, Calif. (NBC, KYMA) - Two people were rescued from their small plane after it came to a rest upside down at a Southern California airport.

Fire crews responded Wednesday to Cable Airport, a public use airport in Upland. There, they found the single engine plane resting on the airport fencing upside down.

Officials say the pilot wasn't hurt, but the passenger, an elderly woman, was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

San Bernardino County officials say the Cessna 210 may have rut out of runway while landing and hit the soil embankment before overturning.

The FAA will investigate.
