Nick Reiner’s lawyer leaves case, arraignment delayed
LOS ANGELES (NBC, KYMA) - The arraignment of Nick Reiner, son of Hollywood director Rob Reiner, on murder charges has been delayed again.
During what was supposed to be his arraignment Wednesday morning, his attorney, Alan Jackson, formally withdrew from the case.
Reiner, 32, faces murder charges in the killings of his parents. Arraignment was delayed to February, and Reiner will be represented by a public defender.
After withdrawing from the case, Jackson told reporters that the choice was beyond his control.
"Circumstances beyond our control, but more importantly, circumstances beyond Nick's control have dictated that. Sadly, it's made it impossible for us to continue our representation of Nick. My team, and I remain deeply, deeply committed to Nick Reiner and to his best interests. In fact, we know we're not just convinced. We know that the legal process will reveal the true facts of the circumstances surrounding this case."

At his first court appearance in December, Reiner was ordered to remain in jail without bond.
