Foo Fighters to hold benefit concert next month
LOS ANGELES (NBC, KYMA) - The Foo Fighters are holding a benefit concert next month in Los Angeles on January 14, which is Dave Grohl's birthday.
According to the band's post on social media, all proceeds from the show will be donated to two charities, Hope the Mission and the Los Angeles Mission.
A ticket pre-sale event, which doubled as a donation drive, was held Sunday, the band said in a press release.
Fans got the chance to secure tickets to the big show, but were also asked to bring food, clothing and other items to support those charities, as they lines up to buy those tickets.
"There's something special in L.A. We want to help people. We want people to be a part of this...not languish on the streets, and it's events like this that really showcases how great our city is," said Rowan Vansleve, President of Hope the Mission and the L.A. Mission.
The concert is taking place at the Kia Forum, located at 3900 W. Manchester Blvd in Inglewood, California.
