‘Golden Girls’ pop-up restaurant opens in San Diego

SAN DIEGO (NBC, KYMA) - "The Golden Girls" went on the air 40 years ago this year, and now, fans can experience the world of Dorothy, Blanche, Rose and Sophia in a pop-up restaraunt.

At the San Diego installation, visitors can take selfies in the girls' kitchen, Blanche's boudoir, and the famous Lanai.

While there, visitors might want to try a themed cocktail and a slice of the girls' favorite cheesecake.

"It's been around for years and years. It's probably only gotten more popular over the years in pop culture like, my kids, my 14-year-old knows what the Golden Girls is," said Derek Barry, President of Experiences for Bucket Listers.

The restaurant, called the Golden Girls Christmas Experience, opens Wednesday in Little Italy along Pacific Highway, and will go until January 11.
