Tree falls across an apartment building in Southern California

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (NBC, KYMA) - Investigators are trying to find out what brought down a huge tree in Southern California Monday.

The tree fell onto an apartment building in Thousand Oaks. Days of rain may have contributed to the collapse.

Fire crews say they got the call at about 11:00 a.m. Pacific. They say the tree damaged eight apartments, but only two were occupied when the tree came down.

No one was hurt, but 18 people have been displaced.
