SAN FRANCISCO (NBC, KYMA) - An investigation is underway after a dog and a person were shot and a police officer was injured Sunday afternoon in San Francisco.

Officials received a call just before 4:30 p.m. Pacific regarding a shooting at O'Farrell and Market Street.

They arrived to find a person who was shot in the leg. That person was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Fire department officials also found an officer who was bit by a dog and a dog suffering from a gunshot wound.

The dog is also in stable condition and is under the care of animal control while the police officer who was bitten opted not to go to the hospital.
