Firefighters in California rescue two cats from burning building

SANTA ANA, Calif. (CBS, KYMA) - A firefighter saved two cats from a burning building in Santa Ana, California last month.

According to Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA), neighbors alerted authorities to a second floor apartment fire on West Stevens Avenue at about 3.40 p.m. Pacific.

OCFA said firefighters were joined by crews from Costa Mesa and Newport Beach Fire Departments, quickly containing the fire and preventing the spread to nearby apartments.

No injuries were reported, while two cats were rescued from the blaze, officials said.

OCFA later released bodycam footage in which a firefighter from OCFA Engine 28 helps clear the building and rescue the two cats.
