Police in California chase big rig driver possibly tied to kidnapping

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (NBC, KYMA) - A pursuit of a big rig driver, possibly tied a kidnapping, came to a dramatic end in Orange County Wednesday.

Police deployed an armored BearCat vehicle to intercept the vehicle during the chase, which began in the Fontana area at around 9:30 a.m. Pacific, and crossed through L.A. County before ending at an Orange County intersection.

Police say a passenger in the vehicle tried to call 911 at one point, but the call disconnected.

At another point, the driver was seen opening the door, and what appeared to be a water bottle fell out of the vehicle.

After being stuck by the BearCat, the drive was taken into custody. The passenger also exited the vehicle.
