6-5 Fire in California destroys several homes

CHINESE CAMP, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Several homes have been destroyed in the historic town of Chinese Camp due to a quick-moving wildfire.

Evacuation orders and warnings are in effect for parts of Tuolumne County after lightning sparked a fire Tuesday morning.

Several homes appeared to be destroyed or damaged by the fire in the gold mining community of Chinese Camp.

As of Wednesday, the so-called 6-5 Fire has burned over 6,400 acres, according to Cal Fire. To keep up-to-date with the fire, click here.
