Burglary crew in Los Angeles arrested in connection to nearly 100 break-ins
LOS ANGELES (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A number of suspected burglary crew members have been arrested in connection to nearly 100 break-ins across the Los Angeles.
L.A. Mayor Karen Bass and other city leaders announced the arrests Monday. Police described the ten suspects as "career criminals" and alleged gang members.
The group, dubbed the "Rich Rollin' burglary crew" by authorities, is suspected of 92 break-ins across the city.
"These are not crimes of need. These are crimes of greed, and they don't want to actually use the purses...they don't want to use the stuff that they are stealing for their own personal benefit, of course...not they are turning that into money," said Nathan Hochman, Los Angeles County District Attorney.
D.A. Hochman says some of the people arrested could face maximum life sentences. He also said there are an additional 45 cases under investigation.
