Lake Fire forces San Bernardino County residents to evacuate
UPDATE (4:24 PM): The Lake Fire, burning in the San Bernardino Mountains in California, is forcing people to evacuate.
Video captured by @purely.living.homestead shows the fire burning near Silverwood Lake. The state recreation area there has been closed.
According to Cal Fire, the Lake Fire has burned 485 acres and is just 10% contained. Evacuations orders have been issued to people living in the area.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A brush fire, which ignited in the San Bernardino Mountains Saturday, continues to burn.
As of Sunday morning, the Lake Fire had grown to 478 acres and was 10% contained, according to Cal Fire.
In addition, Cal Fire says the fire threatened 30 structures.
Cal Fire said that fire behavior significantly decreased overnight, allowing crews to make progress on strengthening and constructing containment lines.
Evacuation orders for the Summit Valley area south of Highway 138 remain in place and the blaze continues to pose a threat to high-tension power lines.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
