Eaglet in California takes leaves the nest for the first time

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - One of the two eaglets in California had crossed a major milestone.

Sunny spread her wings and took flight Monday, leaving the family nest for the first time while her sibling, Gizmo, watched the whole thing, according to the Friends of Big Bear Valley's Facebook post.

A camera captured the incredible moment as Sunny took off and circles back toward her parents' favorite roost tree.

Will Sunny come back to the nest, or fly away on her own adventure? Only time will tell.
