Elderly man in California killed during a carjacking

NORCO, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - An elderly man was killed Monday afternoon following a carjacking at a gas station/car wash in Norco, California.

The victim, a 78-year-old was vacuuming the back of his car when the suspect got in and drove off.

Soon after, the victim was ejected from the vehicle and dragged on the road, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Law enforcement officials were able to find the stolen vehicle in Riverside. However, the investigation is ongoing.
