Senators Padilla and Booker speak on Eaton Fire recovery efforts

ALTADENA, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - U.S. Senators Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) and Cory Booker (D-N.J.) joined FEMA, local leaders and representatives from the SBA, EPA and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for a tour and briefing on cleanup and recovery efforts in the aftermath of the devastating Eaton Fire in Altadena.

They made a visit to the Altadena temporary debris staging site that will serve as the new location for recycling operations for asbestos-free clean concrete, metal, and vegetative debris.

The senators visited impacted residential communities, small businesses, and clean-up sites. They also pushed for additional federal disaster aid needed to help Los Angeles rebuild and recover.

The deadline for federal relief is at the end of the month.

Federal benefits and assistance, including urgently need debris removal from residential properties is still available until then.
