ASAP Rocky appears in court and pleads not guilty
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Rakim Mayers, better known as ASAP Rocky, faced a judge Monday morning for an arraignment hearing.
The Grammy nominated hip-hop star, who shares two children with pop star Rihanna, arrived at Los Angeles Superior Court alongside his attorneys.
During proceedings, he pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm.
The charges stem from a November 2021 incident in which Rocky is alleged to have pointed a semi-automatic handgun at a former friend and collaborator before allegedly firing shots outside a Hollywood hotel.
The next pre-trial date is set for March 6, with a trial expected to follow.
